What is spring fatigue syndrome and which vitamins will help you deal with it?

If you have noticed that every year during the spring season, in addition to allergies being at their peak, you also feel more exhausted, then you are another "victim" of the so-called spring fatigue.

This syndrome affects women a little more, and usually the time change, the increase in temperature, and the change in climate in general, blocks the body's smooth adaptation to the new conditions.

Hormonal changes and poor dietary choices also aggravate spring fatigue syndrome, as they cause the body to lack essential vitamins.

The most common symptoms and the ones you will notice first are lack of energy and low mood.

These can be followed by migraines, difficulty waking up in the morning, feelings of anxiety, inability to concentrate, digestive disorders, tension, muscle pain, low blood pressure and loss of appetite, resulting in the condition worsening.

The ways to deal with spring fatigue syndrome are entirely in our hands, since if we follow a balanced diet, enjoy adequate and restful sleep, and make exercise part of our daily routine, we will quickly feel much better.

So is it time to ask ourselves whether the meals we consume during the day include the necessary vitamins and minerals, which will strengthen our body and help the brain function, providing it with the required energy?

The most important vitamins for stimulating the body are mainly those of the B complex, which provide the body with the necessary energy.

The B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12) are responsible for converting nutrients into energy.

More specifically, B2 (Riboflavin) is essential for the proper development of the skin, blood cells, the proper functioning of the brain and digestive system, and at the same time helps maintain healthy vision.

B3 (Niacin) is required for the proper functioning of fats and sugars in the body and enhances memory function, while B5 promotes mental performance and also helps maintain healthy skin.

The last two, but most important, B vitamins are B6 (Pyridoxine) and B12. As for vitamin B6, it is responsible for processes such as brain development and the transport of oxygen through the bloodstream.

It also helps the body maintain a healthy nervous and immune system, contributing to the reduction of fatigue and exhaustion.

Vitamin B12, on the other hand, is an essential nutrient that participates in the creation of DNA, nourishes the brain and nervous system, helps in the formation of healthy red blood cells and enhances metabolic processes for energy production.

All B vitamins can be found in many foods, such as meat, fish, milk, eggs, green vegetables, and cereals. Only B12 is not found in plant-based foods.

Other equally important elements that help strengthen the body are folic acid, which is contained in very large quantities in green leafy vegetables, and some antioxidants, which neutralize free radicals in our body, providing it with stimulation and energy.

The majority of fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants, such as watermelon, citrus fruits, kiwi, tomatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli.

Finally, important sources of energy are water and exercise. There are studies that support that even mild dehydration can slow down metabolism, reduce our energy and consequently make us feel tired.

On the other hand, gentle morning exercise, with the abundant sunlight that our country offers us, will help the body adapt more easily to the new atmospheric conditions, and vitamin D will generously offer us all its beneficial properties.

Everything we mentioned above will contribute significantly to supporting our body during the period of spring fatigue.

But if you want something more, nutritional supplements, vitamin drinks, or consuming an energy drink with added vitamins throughout the day will be what you need to stand up to your potential!

The countdown to summer has already begun, so let's take a deep breath and think positive thoughts, traveling with our minds to the relaxing summer moments that await us.
